Introducing the Pyranha Scorch Whitewater Kayak
The Pyranha Scorch was officially released in late February 2021. This nine foot long speedster shares a lot of similarities with the extremely popular Pyranha 9r and Pyranha 9rII. It appears as though Pyranha is moving away from the 9r series and inroducing us to a new line of 9ft creek racing whitewater kayaks. Many Pyranha paddlers shared the release video for the Pyranha Scorch on their social media profiles It will be interesting to what the future holds for the Pyranha 9r now that the Pyranha Scorch has officially made it’s debut.
Pyranha Scorch Overview
Paddlers who are looking for a 9ft long whitewater kayak that packs some serious speed need to check out the Pyranha Scorch. This creek racing whitewater kayak is designed to qualify for short boat races while also maximizing length and speed. While at first glance the Pyranha Scorch looks very similar to the Pyranha 9R and Pyranha 9RII there are a few key differences that the designers at Pyranha utilized to create a new whitewater kayak that offers improved performance over the 9r. Pyranha Scorch Specs
Most creek racing whitewater kayaks have similar specifications. Most try to get as close to the 9ft short boat cutoff as possible without going over so that the boat can be classified as a short boat for racing purposes. As of now we are not sure about what sizes the Pyranha Scorch will be available in, we know for sure that there will be a Pyranha Scorch Medium. Pyranha has also mentioned that they plan on producing a Pyranha Scorch large as well as a Pyranha Scorch small.
