The coveted green river race took place last weekend after heavy rains across the south eastern United States. In the days leading up to the 2019 Green River Race, flows were fluffy and lines were fast in the days leading up to the race. On the day of the race the water levels were still pretty high. High water and incredible athletes, led to some low numbers and even a new Green River race course record.

Dane Jackson has been putting in a lot of work during the past couple of years to improve his Green Race time and compete for the top spot on the podium. This new course record was just four seconds shy of breaking the four minute barrier that everyone is grinding to surpass. Dane was able to go sub four during a high water narrows run prior to race day but this is not an official time. It seems like every year paddlers are inching closer and closer to going sub four. It is going to happen it is just a matter of when. It did not happen in 2019 but there is a good chance it could happen in 2020.
